Become Our Partner!

Association “Design Week” plans to establish strategic partnership in the project implementation with these institutions and organizations:

  • The First Lady of the Republic of Serbia Mrs. Dragica Nikolic, who has accepted to be the High Patron and promoter of the project;
  • NALED, from which we expect assistance in selecting municipalities, organizing meetings with municipalities and NALED member companies;
  • SKGO (Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities) – from which we expect assistance in dissemination of information to local municipalities;
  • Interested local government units in which the playgrounds would be built;
  • Embassy of Finland, which has helped build the first creative playground for children at Kalemegdan (Belgrade), and in communication with one of the best producers of playground equipment, LAPPSET, which offered a non-commercial equipment price;
  • Companies – our association is planning to cooperate with all socially responsible companies who are willing to be involved in the project, especially with NALED member companies;
  • Media – we plan to cooperate with all the media, both national and local media in areas in which the playgrounds will be built. BDW is overwhelmed with the amount of media coverage about the first BDW Creative playground built at Kalemegdan in 2013;

Our association is willing to cooperate with all other associations and individuals who wish to promote social responsibility, creative industries and create a better environment for the development of children;

COMPANIES

We are willing to cooperate with all socially responsible companies who are willing to be involved in the project, especially with NALED member companies. For each of the playgrounds a contract shall be signed between the association, the municipality in which the playground is being built, and the company donating the funds.The company donating the funds will finance the purchase of equipment (toys) to be installed at the playground, the costs of design and planning, as well as funds for the promotion of the project results.

So far we’ve gained the trust and support of:

Foundation Dragica Nikolic, for the third creative playground in the Grand Park of the City of Kragujevac;

– NIS a.d. Novi Sad, for the second Kalemegdan Playground in front of the Cvijeta Zuzorić pavilion;

Thanks to a donation of “NIS a.d. Novi Sad”, the old playground in the centre of the famous Kalemegdan park in Belgrade, in front of the iconic Cvijeta Zuzorić pavilion – in desperate need of reconstruction – shall finally get the long awaited complete reconstruction, along the new creative standards introduced by BDW in 2013 at the first Kalemegdan playground, only a couple of hundred meters away. Thanks to this new partnership between “NIS a.d. Novi Sad” and the City of Belgrade, the most important and frequented park and historic monument in the centre of Belgrade shall finally reclaim both of its traditional playgrounds for future generations, as it was custom for generations of people coming from all parts of the city to enjoy a play, as well as for tourists and visitors with children from all over the world. The partnership between BDW and “NIS a.d. Novi Sad”, has been made possible by the the company’s nationwide CSR project “Zajednici zajedno”.

– UŠĆE Shopping Center d.o.o., for the creative playground is planned to be built at the Ušće plateau;

Another innovative creative playground is planned to be built at the Ušće plateau, thanks to the donation of the “UŠĆE Shopping Center d.o.o.”, who recognized the importance of improving our children’s life, and joined BDW’s non-profit national campaign for building “100 CREATIVE BDW PLAYGROUNDS FOR CHILDREN OF SERBIA”. The Ušće playground is even more important because it signals the transfer of BDW’s ideas to New Belgrade, the new part of town, away from the old city centre, and shall in fact become the first ever children playground in what is the vast expense of the Confluence park area, which in self is an almost unbelievable fact. We are in any case very happy to become part of history thanks to this potential new partnership between “UŠĆE Shopping Center” and the City of Belgrade, and hope that this will not remain the only new playground in the immense and important Confluence park area.

– Property Development Ltd., Serbian branch of the Greek company Lamda Development, for the first Kalemegdan Playground built at Little Kalemegdan;

At the first playground designed at the Kalemegdan park, Belgrade Design Week connected, as donors, the City of Belgrade with its offices and Property Development Ltd., Serbian branch of the Greek company Lamda Development, known for the construction of a complex on the site of the former Beko factory, restoring the part of Dorćol between the Fortress and the Danube. Their participation in “100 Creative BDW Playgrounds for Children of Serbia” has made it possible for one of the most important playgrounds in Belgrade, which was shut down by inspection because it did not meet the basic safety standards, to become an innovative playground, in terms of concept, quality and design, but also the kind of place that has the world-class quality seen in the greatest cities of Europe and the world.

MUNICIPALITIES

For each of the playgrounds a contract shall be signed between the association, the municipality in which the playground is being built, and the company donating the funds. The municipality will be required to provide a location, prepare it in accordance with the project and plan the resources for long-term maintenance of the playground.

So far we’ve gained the trust and support of:

– The City of Kragujevac;

– The City of Belgrade;

– Municipality Stari Grad;

– Secretary office for communal and residential works;

– Greenery Belgrade.

SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PROJECT

Financial sustainability of the project will be provided by signing a contract with the local government units in which the playgrounds will be built. Each municipality will be required to allocate budget funds for long-term maintenance of the playgrounds. Through the implementation of its activities and the contribution of the founders, the Association provided funds to finance the work of the Office and cover the organizational and operational costs, and the team participating in project implementation works on a voluntary basis. Also, the long-term sustainability of the project is also expected through the provision of funds from commercial donors (socially responsible companies), which will provide funds for the construction of each playground.
For each of the playgrounds a contract shall be signed between the association, the municipality in which the playground is being built, and the company donating the funds. The municipality will be required to provide a location, prepare it in accordance with the project and plan the resources for long-term maintenance of the playground. The company donating the funds will finance the purchase of equipment (toys) to be installed at the playground, the costs of design and planning, as well as funds for the promotion of the project results. Through a network of designers and architects the Association shall announce the contest for the selection of a design concept for each playground and will provide project management. This sustainability model will provide long-term sustainability of the project.
