Misha Milovanovich (aka Misha World) is a Belgrade-born artist living and working in London. Misha graduated from St Martins School of Art in London in the early nineties. She is known for her unruly minimalism. Moving between painting, live art, and sculpture, she does not have a single style or medium.

Marked by an exuberance of colours and patterns, her work is often darkly humorous as it deals with our insincerely extroverted, post-crash human condition. While her prima facie subject matter derives from popular and youth culture, her artistic progenitors include her mentor Martin Kippenberger, Roy Lichteinstein and Phillip Guston, as well as contemporary artists such as Gilbert and George, Keith Tyson, Rob Pruitt and Jim Lambie.

With a surreal approach to contemporary image making, Misha fuses her painterly background with a unique and boldly graphic sensibility. She is currently exploring the fusion of art and performance in the creation of un-commodifiable experiences.

These artworks are intended to exist only in the memories and emotions of their audience.

Misha adores shiny, colourful things but knows of the Corruption they inevitably bring..

Been a few weeks after the end of the Belgrade Design Week, but in my mind is still alive all the energy collected in the three very intense days in Belgrade. I enthusiastically accepted the invitation to the BDW 2010 but, honestly, I did not expect to live a so unique experience: BDW Conference is an incredible concentration of creativity, freedom, passion and feeling that involves all participants. Amazing the people of the organization guided by the genius and craziness of Jovan!
