Dejana Kabiljo creates art, architecture and design for all of us with little weakness, bad habits and obsessions. She moves effortlessly between worlds ignoring the preset categories of art and design, choosing to play with own concepts. Dejana launched her brand Kabiljo Inc. with an exhibition in the MAK, Museum of Applied Arts/ Contemporary Art, Vienna, in 2001. She exhibits extensively worldwide, her works are included in collections of: the MAK, Vienna, Museum of Applied Art, Belgrade, Wien Museum and in various private collections.

Dejana Kabiljo was born in Split, Croatia, lives in Vienna, Austria.

After graduating in Architecture from the University of Belgrade, Dejana Kabiljo took her Master Degree in design from the Domus Academy in Milan. Her first product designs LIMON, table and LIM, chair. for STEEL, divisione della Molteni & Molteni, Italy, were chosen for the interior design of the Groninger Design Museum, Netherlands. In 92 she moved to Vienna where she held position of art director of the Vienna Museum of Technology from 95 to 97. Dejana Kabiljo was lecturer at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna from 97 to 99, and also held guest lectures at the Konsfack, Stockholm and MAK, Vienna. All our life is about becoming like a child, trying to find out who is really hidden inside yourself, who you really are, who is the divine being inside. Great alpinist climb mountains not to become world famous, but to learn something about themselves, to come closer to that inner-child. If you are exposing yourself to the process of climbing the mountain, it is very important you are prepared to make a fool of yourself, to let yourself fall into the emptiness of vague idea, and to have the courage to be a total idiot. Only then you have a chance to die with the smile on your face.
