Istanbul Design Week is organized by idf (international design fairs) with the support of its project partners such as Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Hûrriyet newspaper and dDf (Dream Design Factory). Arhan Kayar, one of the co-founders of dDf, presented their work at Belgrade Design Week 2010.
The first Istanbul Design Week took place in 2005 on the Old Galata Bridge that contains the contexts of design history. Istanbul Design Week is a week dedicated to design, a showcase for designers, a new business opportunity for participant companies to present their products and activities to an international audience. Visitors experienced intense design days with symposiums, workshops, and conferences at this connection point for creative ideas from different disciplines of design.
dDf (Dream Design Factory), established in 1993, soon became the most important international communication design company in Turkey. Arhan Kayar designed many local and international events and independent art organizations. Projects that Arhan has worked on have drawn great attention worldwide in cities including Istanbul, Paris, London, Tokyo, New York, Moscow, etc. Arhan, one of the world-recognized and awarded Turkish event designers, graduated at the Faculty of Architecture of Mimar Sinan University.
