INTERVIEW WITH DANTE – GOODS AND BADS AT BRAND NEW WORLD MILANO 2015 @ DUŠAN
German studio Dante – Goods and Bads presents their latest work in Milan from April 14 – 19th, as one of the eight key international studios who epitomize the new concept of Designers – Makers – Entrepreneurs, rethinking the entire business and creative model of design. Dante’s exhibition is part of BRAND NEW WORLD MILANO 2015 @ DUŠAN, curated and produced by Vesna and Jovan Jelovac. As a part of the Milan 2015 FouriSaloni program, Brand New World shows a pure DESIGN 2.0 philosophy, unthinkable of only a few years ago. The concept is staged in arguably one of the most elegant design showrooms in the city – DUŠAN, Via Antonio Zarotto 1, powered by LAUFEN.
Aylin Langreuter and Christophe de la Fontaine, started their own business just three years ago, establishing the innovative Dante goods and Bads design studio in Milan, and achieved instant remarkable success, as they say, among other things thanks to the crisis. Their ingenious designs were suddenly acceptable for production in cutting edge Milanese ateliers, which normally would have been occupied with commissions for leading global brands. Dante Goods and Bads is reminiscent of classic values in terms of esthetics and in the same time radically innovative in terms of cutting edge quality production and materials. Because of its particular approach to the creative and production processes, the objects that this company produces are very exclusive. Dante deals with interiors and furniture, from this year on even with lighting, which allows them to engage in completely different areas.
– Any project ever made is intended to give a specific answer to a certain topic, resulting in the most appropriate vision in the time being. Luckily, overcoming this peak, it gives space for new opportunities….mentioning Enzo Ferrari, the best Ferrari is the next Ferrari. We are proud being able to work with enthusiasm on a daily base, with each other in this challenging field. Not mentioning the 8 prestigious awards, received for the porcelain tableware “Format” designed for Rosenthal, introduced for there 50’s anniversary of the Studio-line, figuring the most awarded series all time in Rosenthal history, said Aylin Langreuter and Christophe de la Fontaine, the founders of Dante.
Basically, they do only what they want to, and that kind of approach allows them not to slip into boredom and not to fall into a routine. They produce everything themselves, so everything is always new and fresh for them, which is the driving force defining the base of the Dante Goods and Bads brand.
For the moment all our energy goes to keep rising the highly fragile endeavor that ‘Dante – Goods and Bads’ is. Ok design is our daily bread but running a proper company is definitely a different pair of shoes, said Aylin and Christophe.
There is no secret remedy, while professional you dip from your experience and most of the awareness of your personal intuition, one thing leads to another. Try again, fail again, fail better, concluded Aylin and Christophe.
