JELOVAC AT GLOBAL DESIGN FORUM

 

Jovan Jelovac attended the first Global Design Forum, a new one-day event at the London Design Festival that brought together a star-alliance of design luminaries, organizations and talents to debate the issues and pressure points that are really affecting the design industry. As Max Fraser, Deputy Director of London Design Festival said: “London provides a unique stage for the Forum, due to its positioning as the world’s design city.” The Global Design Forum provided a creative platform for presenting and debating important and controversial ideas, both on and off the stage. The Forum turned the tables on traditional one-way conference models by giving individual delegates the opportunity to exchange ideas and contribute to the discussions. Leading local and international speakers had been specifically chosen from a variety of backgrounds, from start-up entrepreneurs to established corporate leaders, from key public sector figures to cultural pacesetters. They had been specifically briefed to challenge conventions and propose pioneering ideas as the world moves through a particularly challenging period. Alberto Alessi, Thomas Heatherwick, Tom Dixon, Yves Behar were just some names from a 30 plus list of global leaders of the creative industries who participated in panel discussions and case study presentations during the Global Design Forum. The aim of the Forum is to collectively set the global design agenda and inspire positive new directions for the sector through answering the questions such as importance of playing and dreaming, ways to best use design to secure a competitive advantage, ways of drawing our path out of recession through design, changing around the world through the business of design…
