‘scenes from the prairie’ draws on traditional furniture, the bucolic and folkloristic. the furniture speaks of forgotten typologies which are still found in rural environments — updated to create a dialog of cultural idiosyncrasies, or to contrast them. the series draw from patterns and objects of traditional craft, such as shaker furniture and quilting, which have been interpreted in a contemporary way, resulting in a robust and waterproof family pieces that are assembled by hand.

‘come as you are’ is a simple modest bar cart with reference to classic serving trolleys. by reducing its components to their essence, the three-dimensional outer railing acts to envelope and unite the two overlapping serving surfaces to overcome the austerity of this archetype.
