BELGRADE DESIGN WEEK ONE OF THE MUST SEE FESTIVALS IN BELGRADE BY TRAVEL BOOK
In their recent article 9 FAIRLY GOOD REASONS FOR A TRIP TO BELGRADE, Travel Book has presented a lot of good reasons to visit Serbian capital city.
“I always had trouble in Serbia” ,the taxi driver says on the way to the airport. A hundred times he had gone through Belgrade on the way to Turkey, where he and his wife have their roots as well as a holiday home. “Belgrade”, he says, and lets out a long sigh, “Belgrade is an old, run-down town.”
Many people share this point of view. Le Corbusier, architect and esthete was, at the beginning of the last century, so shocked about the state of Belgrade, that he even named it the “ugliest city in the world, and the most beautiful place in the world”. At least the location – at the confluence of the Sava and Danube –gives hope. And the “Lonely Planet” chose Belgrade to be among the top ten must see cities in 2015. But what is it really in Belgrade?
Travel Book looked around and discovered many things: beautiful and ugly, cool and strange, surprising and expectable, but above all – a lot of good reasons for a trip to Belgrade. Energy, night life, people, prices, location, restaurants, feeling that everything is possible, the art to improvise and, as expected, festivals and events that make Belgrade so fantastic! Travel Book marked Belgrade Design Week a festival that you must visit when in Belgrade. Also, there are: Mikser festival in the summer, Belgrade Dance Festival in the spring ( this year under the title “Catch the light”) , Belgrade Fashion Week in March / April, Belgrade Music Festival (BEMUS) in early October and Belgrade Jazz Festival in late October.
