MORE THAN JUST A GAME

“100 CREATIVE BDW PLAYGROUNDS”  was recently launched at one of Belgrade’s locations best tted for such a project: Kalemegdan Park.

In partnership with the City of Belgrade and the company LAMDA DEVELOPMENT as primary investors, Embassy of Finland in Serbia and Finnish company LAPPSET as partners, based on a project of a young architecture studio from Belgrade: MADA, and executed by Belgrade City Parks, during August 2013 Belgrade Design Week proudly opened the rst „designed“ children’s playground in Serbia.

This is only the beginning of a great creative adventure!

The first ever Creative Forum Serbia – Powered by Samsung, was one of the highlights of this year’s Belgrade Design Week.

BDW in The New York Times – “Belgrade Design Week helped create a completely new view of the Serbian capital to one of the world’s most respectable media”.

Nothing escapes  Clemens Weisshaar’s watchful eye – pointing towards the future, he encourages us to brutally rethink the present…We enjoyed his inspiring speech at the BDW 2013 Conference.

Check out the new triumph of BDW’s old friends – Zaha Hadid Architects: Library and Learning Centre at the Vienna University of Economics and Business!!!

„100% Future Serbia“ is a project we are especially proud of: check out the winner of this year’s competition, Marko Vučković, and find out what can be presented in a space of just 1m².

The Belgrade Design Week was the best design conference I have ever enjoyed – the specific spirit of the city in a kind of in between status, the rough tension which can still be felt ten years after the bombs, the pride and the looking for new orientation especially in the young generation – all this is giving the BDW a special flair far away from the current events of the global design circus. In addition the enthusiastic organizational team trying hardly but unsuccessfully to keep the program along the schedules, the informal exchange between the international speakers, the loss of any discipline, the parties on the river … what ever and how ever the interrelations between these aspects are working – it makes the BDW an unique, likeable, inspiring and productive event, I will never forget.
